Even now, users are actively searching for information on where to buy GTA 6 , on which devices it will be available, and whether they will be able to play it on their platform. That's why we've compiled everything you need to know about the game's release on different devices.

The release of GTA 6 from Rockstar Games is just around the corner, and the number of questions surrounding the upcoming game continues to grow. One of the most popular concerns the platforms on which Grand Theft Auto 6 will be playable. Let's take a look at each of them separately.

Will GTA 6 be released on PS5 ?

Yes, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on PlayStation 5 on the first day of release - November 19, 2026.

The game's appearance on Sony's console was never in doubt. However, with the start of an active GTA 6 advertising campaign in mid-2026, it became clear how closely Rockstar Games works with PlayStation. The partnership between the companies has become one of the most visible elements of the game's promotion.

Sony even claims that GTA 6 is best played on PS5 . In addition, there are specific features and capabilities related to the game for PlayStation 5 and the more powerful PS5 Pro.

Will GTA 6 be released on Xbox?

Yes, GTA 6 will also be released on Xbox Series X|S at the same time as PlayStation 5 version.

Despite Rockstar obvious emphasis on cooperation with Sony, owners of Microsoft consoles will also be able to fully enjoy the new part of Grand Theft Auto .

The game will be available for purchase both digitally and on physical media. However, it is worth taking care of free space on your storage device in advance, because given the scale of the open world and the amount of content, GTA 6 can be very large.

Will GTA 6 be released on PC?

No, GTA 6 will not be available on PC at launch. However, it is expected that the game will eventually be released for PC.

For many PC gamers, this is probably the most disappointing news. As with previous major Rockstar releases, the PC version will be released later than the console version.

For comparison: GTA 5 came out on PC almost two years after the first console release. However, this time the wait may be much shorter.

One prominent gaming analyst has suggested that GTA 6 could arrive on PC approximately 6–7 months after the console launch. If this prediction comes true, the release should be expected around April–June 2027.

This also partially aligns with rumors of a possible PC release in the first quarter of 2027, although specific dates remain unconfirmed. Rockstar Games has yet to announce an official PC release date.

Will GTA 6 be released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2?

Unfortunately, Rockstar Games currently has no plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.

Despite the Switch 2 being significantly more powerful than the original Switch, the chances of seeing GTA 6 on this platform seem pretty slim.

The game is already a serious load on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, so adapting it for Nintendo's portable system could be a daunting task. No official plans for such a port have been announced at this time.
