GTA 6 release: date, pre-load, editions and prices (live)

Release date and launch times

Rockstar has confirmed Thursday, 19 November 2026 as the launch date on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital copies usually unlock at local midnight, so some regional store pages show 18 November — that is the same launch seen from a different time zone, not a different date.

• Pre-load: from local midnight on 12 November 2026 for everyone who pre-ordered, digital or boxed (the code inside the box works for pre-loading too).
• Unlock: at launch, 19 November, by region.
• Day-one patch: expect one; we will add its size here as soon as consoles start downloading it.

Platforms: is GTA 6 on PC?

GTA 6 launches only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (including PS5 Pro and Xbox Series S). Rockstar has not announced a PC version, a Steam or Epic page, or a PC date. Rockstar has traditionally brought its games to PC later (GTA V came to PC about a year and a half after its console launch), but anything about a GTA 6 PC date is speculation until Rockstar says otherwise. PS4 and Xbox One are not supported.

Editions and prices

Standard owners can buy the Ultimate upgrade later, so there is no rush to pay more on day one. There is no Collector's Edition and no middle tier. Prices in other regions differ; check your local store.

Physical copies are "code in a box": the box contains a download code, not a disc. If you want to trade the game in or play without downloading it, keep that in mind.

Pre-order bonus

Everything bought before 20 November 2026 (either edition, digital or boxed) includes the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan with a garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders also get one month of GTA+; PlayStation and Xbox give different deadlines to claim it, so check the store you buy from.

Where to pre-order

• Rockstar Store
• PlayStation Store
• Xbox Store

Buy only from official stores or well-known retailers: GTA 6 "keys" sold cheaply on marketplaces before launch are a common scam.
